Testimonials

____

  • You may learn a few things about punching from youtube and you'll get fit in a boxing class, but if you really want to learn how to box, and how to handle yourself in the ring or a self-defense situation, you'll enjoy training with Pat. He serves up some great, old-school boxing skills. I don't compete, but I train for two days a week at my local boxing gym with the focus mainly on strength and conditioning, then one day a week with Pat focusing mainly on technique - technique here being everything from punching, defense, footwork, breathing, balance and controlling the ring. The sweet science. It's a hoot and you'll get to be a better boxer whatever level you're at.

    TONY LEES

  • It's hard not to feel a little like Rocky when you're training in the ring with the gristled Pat Bishop. I'm just training for fun and fitness, but the one-on-one training really makes you feel like you're training for a big fight. There's a really raw, old-school boxing gym feel about Pat's place that the bigger commercialised gyms just can't replicate. See you next week Pat. Arms up!

    DAN ANGLAND

  • Just like to say thanks, you took my kid under your wing and showed him how to kickbox, both he and I have never forgot the time you put into him. Best of luck and all the best.

    p.s.
I have another son who is keen to box
he is only 8 at the moment so catch you when hes 10

    DAVID POTTER

  • As a kiwi living abroad I wanted to learn some boxing basics whilst back for a family holiday in Tauranga. I was able to work with Pat three times a week learning the fundamentals of boxing and also getting my fitness to a higher level. I found the classes both challenging and rewarding and my experience with Pat has led to me continuing on with Boxing as a sport in Hong Kong where I am currently living. Cheers Pat!!
